Acquia Cloud V2 (2013)

Redesign

Background: User testing and customer feedback identified problems with the IA and wayfinding of the original experience. Users also expressed that the overall experience felt outdated.

Responsibilities: On a short deadline to release prior to a conference, I lead design direction with a cross-functional team to produce designs, refactor the IA and collaborate with developers to execute on the vision.

Before and after

The previous workflow page design had a lot of top heavy IA structure which pushed information and access down the page.

By changing the IA structure we were able to greatly simplify the structure and provide more focus to appropriate user actions.

The redesign focused on making the hierarchy of the page clearer.

Wayfinding markers were added at all levels so users had a better understanding of where they were.

Updates moved previously cluttered sidebar items to tabs, to focus on actions specific to the tabs providing more focus.

Acquia Insight

Redesigned for a better use of space, and a uniform layout that allows options for the product to be consistently in a left side navigational sidebar.
